Real Marine® Design: Part of Kicker's Real Marine design, the MSS65 (51MSS65) component speakers are designed specifically for the marine environment and carry an IP66 waterproof rating. The marine speakers have gone through rigorous testing to ensure they meet or exceed marine industry standards, including ASTM B117, ASTM G154; ISO 12216:2002 D1.1-2.

Speaker Construction: The Kicker MSS65 component speakers include a 6-1/2" woofer that's constructed of polypropylene and carbon fiber with a Santoprene rubber surround for splash and spray resistance. A separate 1-1/8" dome tweeter is constructed of weather-resistant Teteron and features a neodymium magnet.

Woofer Mounting: The MSS65 is designed to be mounted without the need for an enclosure or box space. The marine speakers can be mounted to a baffle or bulkhead in a free-air configuration.

Tweeter Mounting: The MSS65 includes brackets for surface-mounting or flush-mounting the tweeters. Dimensions for both mounting methods include:

Surface-Mount: A surface-mount cup lets you install the tweeters on a flat mounting surface without having to cut out a mounting hole. A slot in the bottom of the bracket lets you run the speaker wire out without having to drill a hole for the wire. The surface-mount bracket has an outer diameter of 2.60" and a total height of 1.284" with the tweeter installed.
Flush-Mount: A flush-mount bracket let you mount the tweeters inside the mounting surface for a clean look.

Power: The 4-ohm MSS65 2-way speakers can handle 15-100 watts RMS (200 W peak).

RGBW Lighting: The MSS65 marine component speakers are outfitted with a built-in 7 color LED lighting system on the back of the woofer grille frame that will light up the woofer cone when activated. Both woofers include an 11" input harness with RGBW LED wiring. The harness is terminated in a watertight connector on one end and bare-ended wires on the other end. The Black wire gets connected to a +12 volt source while the Red, Green, Blue, and White wires are used to activate their corresponding color when a ground is applied. The optional Kicker KMLC Lighting Remote Control (sold separately) can provide a multitude of lighting modes.

Wiring: The Kicker MSS65 woofers each feature two watertight connection ports, one for the speaker wiring and one for the RGBW LED wiring. Two included 11" harnesses feature matching watertight connectors on one end, for plugging into the woofer, and bare-ended wires on the other end for attaching to your amplifier and LED lighting control. Each speaker harness includes a pair of input wires and a pair of parallel output wires that connect to the tweeter.

Dual Speaker Grilles & Tweeter Mounts: The MSS65 component speakers include two sets of spoke-style woofer grilles, one charcoal and one white. White and charcoal tweeter mounting cups (flush and surface-mount) are also provided to match the woofer grilles.
